Welcome to Alleviant Health Centers of Akron. We are a driven and highly productive team of clinicians who offer novel, holistic healing methods to Akron, Fairlawn, and the surrounding communities. We enjoy a lively and welcoming work environment and we promise to lift the spirits of every person who walks through our door. Our goal is to journey with each patient on the road to healing from mood disorders, addiction, and chronic pain.

Christopher McCourt has been a registered nurse since 1996 when he graduated from Mansfield Hospital School of Nursing. He has worked in ICU, ER and management settings. Recently, he obtained his master’s degree and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. While working in family practice, he noticed that most patients struggled with mental health conditions, and he wanted to focus specifically on mental health and went back to school to get his post-master’s certificate in Psychiatry from the University of Cincinnati. Christopher feels it was the best decision he ever made – finally finding his niche after 24 years in the profession.

Christopher’s knowledge, empathy, and understanding will help you formulate a plan to tackle your mental health condition. He does more than just prescribe medications – he tailors each session to meet the person’s needs by incorporating therapy into the session and discusses whether medications are an option.

Christopher is a husband, a father of three wonderful children. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his family and roots for most Cleveland sports teams, even if it’s futile. He feels his Ohio State Buckeyes are always there for him when the Browns let him down. Christopher is an avid fantasy football player and loves to travel with his family.
