About this retreat

In traditional Amazonian shamanism, the master plant dieta is a process in which the dietero enters isolation in the rainforest, adheres to a very limited diet, and ingests and cultivates a relationship with a plant to learn the teachings and healing modalities that the spirit of this plant has to offer.

Here at Niwe Rao Xobo we have curated a journey that allows you to step on to the path of the dietero, to access the ancient and eternal wisdom of the master plants and allow them to reveal that same wisdom within you.

We focus our work on the traditional uses of medicinal plants and trees found in the Peruvian Amazon.
Offering authentic ayahuasca ceremonies with master plant dietas, our mission is to heal,
transform and align you to your soul’s path.

We have witnessed the dieta support those that:

– want to heal trauma, psychological or emotional blockages
– clear ancestral karmic patterns
– want to heal deep-rooted fears and doubt
– feel uncertain about their purpose
– feel disconnected from their inner-self and intuition
– desire re-energising and more focus on their life path
– want to align to their souls path or hearts calling
– are energy workers
– want to explore the nature of their consciousness
– feel compelled to heal the earth
– want to deeper connection and communication with nature

Accommodations

Our wooden cabins, 'tambos' are built with traditional and eco-friendly techniques. The tambo is the guest's little rustic kingdom nature home, where most of their inner-work takes place, and where they can fully immerse in the experience of jungle life in a simple, yet comfortable way. The stripping back from electricity and other modern comforts promotes a healthy and tranquil environment to cultivate deep inner-self reflection. The more we quieten, the more we can hear the plants speak.

How to get there

The center is located in the village on the June 7th district of Yarinacocha, close to the native community of San Francisco. The closest city is Pucallpa, located in the Ucayali region, in the Amazon jungle of Eastern Peru. The fastest and easiest way to get to us is by air, flying to Lima, then flying to Pucallpa. You can book flights from Lima to Pucallpa with Peruvian Airlines, Star Peru, LCP Peru, LATAM. Please note that most domestic Peruvian airlines run late, so we recommend to allow at least 3 hours transit time if flying out of Peru. If you are joining us for an organized two-week diet, we recommend you arrive in Pucallpa one day before the diet begins to give yourself time to aclimatize and rest. We normally meet in Pucallpa at 10am or 1pm on the first day of the diet. From there, we escort you to our center. By air Regular flights from Lima (1 hour) and from Iquitos (50 minutes) to the city of Pucallpa. From the airport to the center you can arrive in two different ways: Summer: by car approximately 45 minutes. Winter: by boat approximately one hour. By River You can arrive by river from Iquitos to Pucallpa (1021 km); the trip takes 3 - 4 days in the winter, and 6 - 7 days in summer as the river water level can get very low. By Road Lima – La Oroya – Cerro de Pasco – Huánuco – Tingo Maria – Aguaytía: 840 km (20 hours by bus during the dry season)

Venue amenities

We have been growing our center since 2016 on our ancestral land, steadily building more facilities and accommodation, in a rustic and natural environment, striving to be as eco-conscious as possible. Our home and the land of our birth is situated near the Shipibo town, San Francisco, 45 minutes from the Amazonian city of Pucallpa.
