About this retreat

The Hummingbird Healing Center provides a beautiful safe, and supportive environment for your personal journey with ayahuasca. Located near Iquitos, Peru, we offer ayahuasca retreats of different lengths to meet your personal needs. All of our retreats include at least one san pedro ceremony, the visionary cactus of the Andes that is very complementary with ayahuasca. Our longer stays include a master plant dieta with a plant selected by our shaman depending on what you are looking to heal, address or learn.

Focused on growth and healing, our ayahuasca retreats also strive to empower people by helping them directly connect with the strength and beauty that lies within us all. Practical advice is given on how to deal with our unproductive thoughts and emotions. Our goal is that you not only benefit from the magic of these wonderful medicine plants, but also take home tools you can apply on a day to day basis.

Our retreats are limited to no more than 13 people and there are multiple caretakers in each ayahuasca ceremony who are not partaking of the medicine. Help is always available if you need it, and we encourage people to open up and talk about the struggles or frustrations they may have so we can coach them on how to transcend it with the help of ayahuasca and san pedro. We help people get clear on their intentions for each ceremony and can give practical advice on how to work with specific issues they may have.

An integral part of all our retreats are talks on our beliefs, thought patterns and the interplay between our conscious and subconscious minds. We will learn about the conditioning we received as children, and why we often have many unproductive and often harmful “programs” stored in our subconscious mind which limit our ability to live successful happy and joyful lives.

The Hummingbird offers 9 and 12 day ayahuasca retreats. All our retreats include one ceremony with San Pedro, the visionary cactus of the Andes. For those looking for deeper healing or a longer experience with ayahuasca, we also have 3 and 4 week Immersion Retreats that include dieatas with other master medicine plants.

Itinerary

12 days/11 nights Six ayahuasca ceremonies 25 minute meditation before each ceremony. One Huachuma (San Pedro) ceremony. Private Room with very comfortable bed. Cleansing vapor bath with medicinal plants and guided meditation. A series of medicinal plant baths to cleanse and strengthen your energy body Optional tobacco purge. Individual healings by the shaman during ayahuasca ceremonies Additional healings outside of ceremony if the shaman sees it is required Art supplies for painting and drawing to bring your visions to life using color and texture. Group circle meetings where you can share your experiences, gain new insights from them and ask questions of our shaman. Shamanic diet with delicious, wholesome and simple meals suitable for working with medicine plants. Guided jungle walk to view the plants in their natural environment and understand their healing purposes A mud bath to draw toxins out of your body Two talks on how the childhood programing of our subconscious mind determines our experience of life and how to change it. Optional Master Plant Dieta for additional $200

Accommodations

Tambos (cabins) set in the jungle with a very comfortable bed, writing desk, composting toilet and a hammock.

How to get there

All retreat groups are picked up in Iquitos, Peru the morning the retreat begins.
