About this retreat

The cultures of Mexico and South America have been working with sacred plant medicines for eons. To them we owe our awareness of their unique healing properties. Medicine men and women of wide experience and deep training are found here. Some are natives working within their own cultural traditions, others apprentice with native medicine men. La Medicina is a calling and a way of life and yet another element unique to these lands. On a more pedestrian note, Cancun and the Riviera Maya are close, easy-to-reach destinations for Americans and Canadians, millions of whom visit each year: to them, Mexico is the foreign country that’s not so foreign. The Cancun International Airport receives scheduled flights from major cities across Canada, the US and western Europe. Services are second to none, the roads are great and the people are wonderful. And finally, there’s the dazzling Caribbean Sea and its powerful healing energies.

Venue amenities

Bluestone retreats take place at Casa de La Tortuga, an oceanfront villa located just north of Cancun on a quiet, sparsely populated stretch of shoreline. The area is home to few residents and free of commercial activity. Casa de La Tortuga is awash with sunlight by day and the light of a million stars by night. It is continually refreshed by the cleansing and healing energies only the open ocean can provide. We offer a stress-free environment, energetically contained and sustained; far from the maddening crowd and alive with the murmurings of Mother Earth. This venue was chosen to let you take maximum advantage of the medicine and the processes it brings up for you. All accommodations face the water, have personal balconies, en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. The grounds are spacious with both a pool and home gym. OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES.
