About

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified hypnotherapist practicing virtually from Costa Rica, where I’ve lived full-time for over a decade. I’ve been personally involved with plant medicine for over 20 years — long before psychedelic integration became a clinical specialty. That journey has included organizing and hosting ayahuasca ceremonies with curanderos from Peru, sitting in indigenous ceremonies across Latin America, and doing my own deep personal work with a range of plant medicines.

Clinically, I bring 17 years of experience in private practice, Gottman Method certification, hypnotherapy training, and a genuinely holistic framework that addresses mind, body, nervous system, and spirit. I am one of a small number of licensed therapists who can offer both the clinical container and the experiential understanding that psychedelic integration work truly requires.

I also promote an overall program of wellness through mental, physical, and spiritual health — as a certified yoga teacher, published author, surfer, and someone who genuinely lives the values I bring to this work every single day.

How I work with clients

I bring both 20+ years of personal plant medicine experience and 17 years of formal clinical training to psychedelic integration work — which means I understand what you've been through from the inside, not just from a textbook. I approach each client and each journey as completely unique. We begin by understanding what you experienced, what it's asking of you, and what kind of support will help you integrate it meaningfully into your daily life. I don't impose a framework — I follow your experience and help you build a map that actually makes sense for your life.

Treatment approach

Integration work requires a different kind of attention than standard therapy — slower, more symbolic, and deeply attuned to the somatic and spiritual dimensions of the experience. I draw from Jungian and depth psychology, somatic therapy, inner child work, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices to help clients process what arose during their journey. I also use hypnotherapy as a powerful complement to integration — allowing us to continue working at the subconscious level between sessions and anchor insights in the body, not just the mind.

I work with clients preparing for ceremonies or solo journeys, those processing recent experiences, and those working with ongoing microdosing protocols. Whether you're brand new to plant medicine or deeply experienced, I meet you exactly where you are.

Rima’s warm and casual demeanor make her easy to open up to. She is a great listener first, and offers support, reassurance, and advice/suggestions second, which I like.

Rima is wonderful, she helps me through my most difficult time of my life and encourages me to move forward, with her encouragement, I slowly step out of my own “trap”. And she is always able to seek the best way to help me and guide me. Thanks Rima!

I have been talking to Rima for about 6 months. It’s a life-changing experience. Although we never met in person like what you expect from traditional therapy, I’ve got a tremendous amount of support and kindness from our conversations. The way I was raised and my personality makes it hard for me to talk about personal struggles in general, but through sessions with Rima, I start to open myself and even get the courage to face a lot of tough issues and willing to dig into it. I truly appreciate all this

Rima is a great listener and offers a tremendous amount of support! Over the past couple of months, I have felt seen and validated, and I also feel inspired to venture outside of myself to do good for myself and the world.
