About

Welcome to my practice. I am a licensed psychologist in California with special interests in non-ordinary states of consciousness, psychosis/extreme states and spiritual emergence, culturally sensitive and trauma informed care, stress resilience, embodied transformation, and the therapeutic applications of entheogens, as well as how they may inform our understanding of consciousness. I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.

For over two decades, I have also studied and practiced somatic approaches to well-being, including body-oriented therapies, yoga and other movement arts, and meditation. I enjoy using somatic awareness techniques to help people open to their inner landscapes, as well as navigate challenging or stressful experiences.

I stepped on the path of becoming a healer long ago, catalyzed by an altered state experience when I was 14 years old that ignited a deep inquiry into human experience and consciousness and many years of study of non-ordinary states of consciousness, including conferences and seminars on entheogens and psychosis/madness (overseas and in the U.S.) and work with individuals experiencing psychosis/madness, dementia, on hospice, and using drugs. I have been trained by M.A.P.S. in MDMA therapy for PTSD and in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy at the Alchemy Community Therapy Center. I am currently an Adherence Rater for M.A.P.S. Sponsored MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD sessions. I welcome all identities and experiences. I believe in humanizing healing.

How I work with clients

Our first session is an opportunity for me to listen, to begin the process of understanding you and what it is that you want for yourself. In some cases, this can be a difficult question to answer. I will help you articulate what you want from an embodied place, which will become the intention of our work together. My clients have told me they appreciate my warmly inquisitive and empathically confrontational approach.

Treatment approach

My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in psychodynamic theory and weaves multiple therapeutic modalities and research, including trauma-informed interventions, somatic therapy, attachment theory, transpersonal psychology, and mindfulness-based therapy. I attend to the cultural, psychological, socioeconomic, somatic, biological, and spiritual perspectives and dimensions of one’s experience.
