About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychedelic-assisted therapy provider. I have spent over 12 years in various integrated behavioral healthcare roles and burned out during the pandemic. I nearly quit being a therapist because my patients weren’t getting better using traditional therapies. But during the most challenging professional year of my life, I witnessed my (now) husband who struggled with treatment-resistant depression for over a decade, heal rapidly within months after engaging in ketamine-assisted therapy. While I had believed it before, It was seeing his transformation that solidified my belief that, with the right mental health support, psychedelics could transform lives.

How I work with clients

Combined with 12+ years of experience in various clinical, academic, and administrative roles in healthcare, my focus is supporting the healing journies of individuals, couples, and families with a culturally-responsive and trauma-informed lens..

My research background includes: the impact of social media on mental health, technology and mental health; the role of art in healing/recovery, and mental health advocacy and policy. These activities inform how I provide psychotherapy and my clients have appreciated my empathetic, direct approach in integrating cutting-edge scientific discovery with clinical experience and lived experience.

In addition to psychotherapy, integration and preparation for experiential work, I offer: community mental health workshops and services; psychedelic coaching; business and marketing consultation for new mental health professionals, and student/trainee wellness consultation for training programs.

Treatment approach

My goal as a therapist is to help reduce suffering and help you thrive in the experience of greater joy. I am warm, compassionate, humorous, and recognize that it is a privilege to hold your life story.

I deeply believe that mental suffering does not mean that there is something wrong with a person. Rather, systems of oppression have created impossible environments to allow people to live their full, joyful selves. My therapeutic work supports clients in examining how these systems have impacted clients by exploring deeply held unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and actions; and identifying tools and strategies to improve wellbeing.

- Trauma (discrimination, generational, developmental, acquired, complex, sexual)

- Relationship issues (communication, setting boundaries, prioritizing yourself, self-care)

- Life transitions(loss/grief, death and dying; career issues)

- Adjustment to medical diagnoses (cancer diagnoses, fertility issues, pregnancy loss or decision-making, chronic pain, accidents, and sports injuries)

- Psychedelic integration

- Multicultural and Diversity considerations (BIPOC mental health, with speciality in Asian mental health; LGBTQ+, polyamory; gender-affirming care)
