You will be closely monitored throughout your infusion to assure your safety and to allow us to make the delicate adjustments necessary to maximize ketamine’s effectiveness while minimizing side-effects. Rest assured that at Vitalitas, a psychiatry specialist will be with you every step of the way. Shantel Gallegos is our psychiatric nurse practitioner. She will start with a thorough, complementary consultation to understand your needs and struggles and to determine how best to use ketamine to help you. Then, she will closely follow your progress, meeting with you several times, as you proceed down the path of our treatment protocol. Shantel is not only experienced in psychiatry, she is well-versed in the unique needs of ketamine infusion patients. Because of her special skill set, many of our patients elect to see her for psychotherapy and/or psychopharmacology management.
